Green electricity

The MANN & SCHRÖDER COSMETICS GROUP converted both its production sites entirely to green electricity in January 2014. Compared with grey electricity, which consists mainly of fossil fuels and nuclear energy sources, green electricity generates fewer CO2 emissions and therefore supports climate control and environmental protection. “With an annual consumption of around 5,500,000 kWh, we can save 2.9 tons of carbon dioxide through green electricity – and we can do this every year,” said technology manager Stefan Martin.

By purchasing green electricity, The MANN & SCHRÖDER COSMETICS GROUP is backing renewable sources, such as hydropower, solar energy, wind power, geothermal energy or biomass. “Our priority is to set an example in response to climate change fears. The promotion of renewable sources of energy is a no-brainer – it is simply imperative,” added Stefan Martin.
