Onboarding at M&S Cosmetics

21 apprentices and dual students start on September 1

MANN & SCHRÖDER COSMETICS is training young professionals in eight different apprenticeships and ten different courses of study this year.

The new cohort was warmly welcomed to the company on September 1, 2023. On a total of three onboarding days, the ten trainees and eleven dual students were able to get to know each other and learn a lot about their training company.

"With onboarding, we offer a framework in which the newcomers can network with each other as well as with the higher years and trainers from day one. We attach great importance to ensuring that the trainees and dualis get off to a good start in their careers and feel well looked after and comfortable in our company," says HR Manager Alexandra Fischer, explaining the purpose of onboarding, which goes far beyond simply imparting knowledge. To help the young men and women find their way around the company, they were shown all the important contact points and told which department does what. They were given an insight into the system landscapes and, of course, were also taught general things worth knowing in training courses. The training content included topics such as data protection, occupational safety, training plan & school, but also etiquette and MS Office training. In the practical part, they were able to produce solid cosmetics themselves and later test their new laptops and the digital trainee booklet.

Improved training concept

The onboarding program was optimized and expanded in 2021 as part of an HR initiative with a uniform training concept. The concept creates the conditions for junior employees at MANN & SCHRÖDER COSMETICS to develop in the best possible way and get off to a good start in the company. After the three onboarding days, the trainees and dualis then went to their respective departments, which are spread across all areas of the company: Administration, Sales, IT, Production, Logistics, Engineering and Laboratory. There, they were already awaited by their trainers and were able to start their practical training right away - highly motivated by the three onboarding days.
